Things to do in ALL Around Virginia in August

It’s hard to believe the kids will be returning to school in a little over 2 weeks! These Summer months fly by and I always find myself wondering where the time goes. If you are anything like me, you may be wanting to squeeze in just a little more Summer fun before we all get back to the grind in Fall.

There are lots of resources I use when trying to find activities for my family. If I am looking for things in Loudoun County I typically go to Dulles Moms. If I am looking in Fairfax County I use the FXVA.com. My favorite “local” newspaper online is The Patch. Groupon, CertifiKid, and Eventbrite.com are also excellent resources and many times can offer you a discount.

There are also 22 National Parks in Virginia for those looking to get outdoors. We love camping and also renting rustic cabins. We enjoy kayaking and floating in nearby rivers too.

Depending on the season we love picking fruits and veggies from nearby farms and orchards too!

If you are looking for some inspiration, I have selected my favorite things to do during the month of August around Northern Virginia ( and beyond)  to help you make some memories, maybe learn something and enjoy everything our wonderful area has to offer.
